English: -Vol. numbering ceased with v. 122 in 1977 -Official newspaper of the North Carolina Conference and Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church (called 1894-1939 the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, and 1939-1968 Methodist Church (U.S.)) -Formed by the merger of the Western North Carolina advocate and the Raleigh Christian advocate (1873) and assumes the vol. numbering of the latter. The Raleigh Christian advocate (1899) reappeared as a separate publication Feb. 23, 1899-June 12, 1919, after which it was permanently absorbed into the North Carolina Christian advocate
