Nederlands: De kracht van geur in communicatie. Dat is het thema van Frederik Duerinck en Marcel van Brakel van kunstenaarscollectief Polymorf. Op South By South West probeerden ze in panels en workshops met succes hun liefde op het publiek over te brengen. “Geur is een van de krachtigste media die er is, het beïnvloedt ons lichaam zonder dat we het in de gaten hebben en zonder dat we er controle over hebben.”
Polymorf schreef een boek over de mogelijkheden om geur bij communicatie in te zetten en is zo in gesprek gekomen met de grote spelers als het gaat om onderzoek en productie. In laboratoria wordt hard gewerkt aan het schaalbaar maken van geur. Bijvoorbeeld: hoe kun je geur straks aan spelen toevoegen of via Skype overbrengen. “Geur gaat in de toekomst overal strategisch ingezet worden: in games, in massacommunicatie, in de gezondheidszorg, op televisie, in de bioscopen.” [Polymorf is een van de 14 partijen die zich met steun van het Stimuleringsfonds Creatieve Industrie op SXSW presenteert.] |
