Title
Morialta Reserve
Description

Morialta Reserve with tram track was on the north side of the road. /See "Adelaide on the Move", 1878-1978, 22 January 1920. The first parcel of land, a 218-hectare portion that included First and Second Falls, was donated by James Reid in 1913. It also included the current recreation area at the base of the falls, which Mr Reid sold to the State Government as part of the deal. Mr Reid placed a proviso on the gift that a tram must service the area to allow city residents easy access to the falls, and the service began on May 31, 1915 and ran for four decades until it was replaced by a bus service on March 17, 1956.

Land that included the Third Falls was purchased by the state in 1966, with multiple purchases later.
