Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Middleton Railway - under the M621. This preserved industrial railway passes in a tunnel under the motorway. The railway dates back to 1812 and was the first commercially successful steam railway using a rack rail system due to concerns regarding adhesion. This was on a gala day celebrating 150 years of the Hunslet Engine Company.
