Dubbelportretten in Huis Bergh vanaf vrijdag 18 april 2014

In de portrettengalerij van Huis Bergh hangt een indrukwekkend portret van een patriciër uit Beieren. Het is geschilderd in het midden van de 16de eeuw door de belangrijkste portretschilder uit de Beierse regio, Hans Mielich. De geportretteerde kijkt vastberaden opzij. Met zijn indringende blik zoekt hij zijn echtgenote. Ooit was er aan zijn zijde ook een portret van haar, een pendant. Maar zij is er niet meer. Hij hangt nu zonder haar in Huis Bergh. Waar is zijn vrouw gebleven?

Deze introductiefilm gaat over de restauratie van het man portret uit de collectie van Huis Bergh. Waarom moest het schilderij geconserveerd en gerestaureerd worden? Wat is er precies gedaan?
