Llyn Newhall Lake lies in the grounds of the Chirk Castle estate near Wrexham; in this video a line is seen extending from the castle car park to the lake: this is Offa's Dyke, and it comes out the other side of the lake. This is a relatively new lake probably created as a reservoir to supply water to the building of the same name (New Hall). Wales as a country was formed as a collection of Celtic Kingdoms around the 5th c.
