4to. xx pp, 147 pp, plus engr frontispiece. 19th C boards. Sole edition. St. Grata seems to have been a popular subject for female writers, having also been the subject of a 1596 biography by Flavia Grumelli. Although not a Benedictine herself, she was 'adopted' by the Benedictine nuns of the city of Bergamo, of which she is the patron saint. Little seems to be known of the author of the present work, Maria Aurelia Tassis, a nun of the Convent of St. Grata in Bergamo
