Description |
Svenska: RÖKELSEKÄRL, på fotställ av trä. Nästan cylindriskt på tre fötter.Pressad dekor. Inscense burner. Dehua ware porcelain incense burnerMing dynasty, 17th century. Elegant vessel in form of a bronze, the sides having raised ribs to simulate cast metal, and the central register bearing moulded decoration that follows ancient bronze décor. In China, the censer would have been lined with sand or earth onto which incense cones were placed and burnt. On the base the surname Xu is written in black ink, denoting a previous owner. |
