Svenska: URNA, med lock, ett par, stående på förgylld bronsmontering. Klubbformiga med kupiga lock med knopp i form av Fos hund. Dekor på buken med två stora fält med figurer, fåglar eller landskap, allt mot botten av ett tätt mosaikmönster i brunrött och svart. Runt foten en guldrand. Inköpt hos Bukowskis 1924. Pris 3.000 Kr.Jfr.: Maria Antónia Pinto de Matos The RA Collection of Chinese Ceramics: A Collector’s Vision (2011), vol.II, s.214-7, nr.313.Vackra kvinnor var ett favoritmotiv inom kinesiskt måleri och användes ofta även på porslin. Scenen på de här vaserna, med kvinnor och en liten pojke i ett vackert landskap, var en vision om det idealiska livet. För européer var denockså fascinerande som en avbildning av »den exotiska Orienten«.Pair of porcelain vases decorated in overglaze enamels, with added European ormolu mounts.Qing dynasty, c.1780The painting of beautiful women was a favourite subject in Chinese painting, and was often employed on porcelain as well. The scene on these vases, with women and male children in a beautiful landscape, was a vision of an ideal life. It was also fascinating to Europeans as a depiction of “the exotic Orient”.
