Kinesisk figur till häst från 202 - 220, Handynastin.
Nyckelord: Föremålsbild, Handynastin, Ryttare, Hästar, Häst
Description
Svenska: FIGUR. Figure, Earthenware burial figure of a horse and rider with lead glazesEastern Han dynasty (CE 25-220)Although small and crudely modelled, the figure nevertheless expresses animation and movement quite clearly, depicting a rider leaning sideways and drawing on the reins of his horse. The rider is an official wearing a robe and scholar’s cap, while his mount has a dressed mane and bobbed tail. The horse is low and stocky, a tough pony from the steppes, rather than a tall animal bred from horses imported from western Central Asia. The type of horse, and the modest scale of the figurine, suggest that it was part of a retinue from a relatively humble tomb. Burial has weathered the glazes, degrading bright colours till they peel and show a silvery sheen.
