Nederlands: De beeldhouwer John Raedecker is onverwacht op 70-jarige leeftijd overleden. Tijdens zijn begrafenis rijdt de lijkstoet langs het Monument op de Dam. Verder beelden van het Tooropmonument in Den Haag, het oorlogsmonument "De gefusilleerde man" te Waalwijk en bouwwerkzaamheden aan het Monument op de Dam, oa tijdens de sneeuwstorm en de plaatsing van het centrale beeld in aanwezigheid van de twee zoons van Raedecker. Met archiefbeelden van Raedecker aan het werk aan gipsmodellen voor het Monument op de Dam en tijdens de plaatsing van de koepelvormige top op de pyloon van het monument.
English: The 70-year-old sculptor John Raedecker has passed away unexpectedly. The funeral procession passes the National Monument on Dam square. Also footage of the Toorop monument in The Hague, the war monument "De gefusilleerde man" (The executed man) in Waalwijk and construction activities on the Monument on Dam square, during a snowstorm and the placing of the central statue in the presence of Raedeckers two sons. With archive footage of Raedecker working on plaster models for the Monument on Dam square and during the placing of the dome-shaped top on the pylon of the monument. |
