English: In this book we get to follow a walk through Stockholm in the 1920s. Anna Lindhagen is our guide. She became known as the one who took the colonial movement to Sweden. She had been on study visits to Denmark and Germany and seen the system of small cultivation plots allocated to working-class families in the cities. Growing your own food, such as potatoes, was a great way to keep hunger out of your own door. The interwar period was a year of need, they suffered from a lack of most things.
But here Anna Lindhagen writes about the places in Stockholm that she likes the most. The perspective is different, for example, Stockholm City Hall was relatively newly built. She thinks this building is an ornament for the city. She is not as fond of the Central Palace at Tegelbacken - the Stockholmers of the future will want to avoid seeing this, she says. 128 pages. Svenska: I denna bok får vi följa med på en vandring genom Stockholm på 1920-talet. Det är Anna Lindhagen som är vår guide. Hon blev känd som den som tog kolonirörelsen till Sverige. Hon hade varit på studiebesök i Danmark och Tyskland och sett systemet med små odlingslotter som tilldelades arbetarfamiljer i städerna. Att odla sin egen mat, exempelvis potatis, var ett bra sätt att hålla svälten från sin egen dörr. Mellankrigstiden var ju nödår, man led brist på det mesta.
Men här skriver Anna Lindhagen om de platser i Stockholm som hon tycker allra mest om. Perspektivet är annorlunda, exempelvis var ju Stockholms stadshus relativt nybyggt. Denna byggnad tycker hon hon är en prydnad för staden. Centralpalatset vid Tegelbacken är hon inte lika förtjust i - denna kommer framtidens stockholmare att vilja slippa se, siar hon. 128 sidor.
