Professional leaders across all industries, including the Army, seek to create teams that not only work well together, but are also highly successful. As the Army continues to structure its teams using an archaic and rudimentary system that relies heavily on intuition, the civilian sector has found great success by leveraging matchmaking technology to assist in team development. In continuation of previous research, our work discusses the current state of the Army's talent management system and the gap between it and its civilian counterpart, and urges the use of technology as a possible solution. We begin by establishing a base understanding of human chemistry. We discuss why human judgment and intuition are no longer sufficient tools for successful talent management, and highlight how current matchmaking technology is being used. Last, we present areas within the military that could benefit from the application of this technology and examine two hypothetical tests that could act as a proof of concept for our claims.
