Description
English:
Local grade listed statue of Saint John the Bosniak/Bosnyák. Story/Legend? based on the website of Ercsi house of culture: The originally painted wood statue of St. John statue was brought by the great flood of the Danube in 1838, and the ice was pushed up the Rába-patak/creek. - Here it was caught and erected under grotta in front of the house of the Bosnyák family (Mártírok Street 38.). That's where it got its first name. The statue was damaged during the war and then disappeared. The new (copy??) artificial stone statue was made in Zalaegerszeg, which was inaugurated in 1996 for the minds of the ancestors and pilgrims of Rác people/South Slavian (Serbs) people. - On the brick-paved pedestal of the statue the inscription of the memorial plaque: 'Statue of St. John "Bosniak" / Installed by the inhabitants of the village of Ercsi as a public donation to the minds of ancestors and pilgrims of the Rascians/ on May 16, 1996' - Mártírok Street, Ercsi, Fejér County, Hungary.

'Nepomuki Szent János szobra' néven helyi védelem alatt azonosító: +00129 ill. 12415. „Bosnyák” Nepomuki Szent János szobor: Az eredetileg fából készült festett Szent János szobrot az 1838-as nagy dunai árvíz hozta, a zajló jég feltolta a Rába-patakon. Itt fogták ki és állították fel grotta alá a Bosnyák család háza elé (Mártírok u.38.). Innét kapta előnevét. A háború alatt megrongálódott, majd nyoma veszett. Zalaegerszegen készült az új (másolat??) műkő szobor, melyet 1996-ban avattak fel a rác ősök és búcsújárók elmékére. info: ercsimuvhaz.hu/ertektar.html A szobor téglaburkolatos talapzatán az emléktábla szövege: '„Bosnyák” Szent János szobor/A rác ősök és búcsújárók elmékére állíttotta közadakozásből Ercsi község lakossága/ 1996 május 16.-án' - Fejér megye, Ercsi, Újsor, Mártírok útja, Rába-patakon átívelő Szent János nagyhíd délnyugati hídfőjénél.
