General expressions for evaluating various thermodynamic properties applicable to the Van der Waals equation of state have been derived. These formulas were subsequently used to evaluate the thermodynamic functions in the two-phase region. The results indicate that, for a Van der Waals fluid, there is a finite discontinuity in the second derivative of the vapor pressure curve, in the second derivative of the chemical potential or Gibbs free energy at the critical point, and in the heat capacity at constant volume measured at the critical density. Numerical values are tabulated and graphs are presented for all functions calculated
