Nederlands: Gipsen model van een Ψ-oppervlak van een mengsel van twee stoffen. Verticaal staat de vrije energie uit, terwijl beide horizontale assen de samenstelling van het mengsel en het volume aangeven. Het rollen van een beroete glasplaat over het oppervlak gaf informatie over de mogelijke toestanden waarin het mengsel kon verkeren. (Bijschrift uit de bron.)
English: Plaster model of a Ψ surface of a mixture of two substances. The free energy is off vertically, while both horizontal axes indicate the composition of the mixture and the volume.
