Summary[edit]

Description Guelb er Richat is a massive (25mile wide) formation of circular rocks of different types. It was created when this land was pushed upwards to create a dome. The dome was then eroded away just leaving a snapshot of its core. All the ridges of rock we had to get through to get here encircle this, the centre of it. Bit of an anti-climax really, there's nothing here except a gravelly ground. It looks much better from space. However what is of note is that this is the most eastern we managed to get on our travels. After this we circled back towards the coast. It was the nearest point we got to the Sahara.
