Description |
English: Greenwich Hospital A view of the Royal Naval Hospital from off the Isle of Dogs to the north-west, in squally weather, with a passenger paddle steamer in stern view on the left and a Thames barge under sail inbound for London with a load of hay on the right. Other Thames barges and lighters are shown in the background. It is signed by the artist and dated in the plate, lower left. David Law (1831-1901) began life as a cartographer but was best known as an artist in the tradition of David Cox. |
