Description
English: The Amsterdam City Hall Floor Map (De Grondt en Vloer vande Groote Burger Sael), a 29.5x17 in. print of a hand-colored copperplate from Jacob von Campden's 1661 Afbeelding van't Stadt Huys van Amsterdam depicting the Burgerzaal floorplan and the marble mosaic map in the floor of the Amsterdam City Hall placed 1648 but gradually worn flat and replaced first by plain stone and then by a reproduction of the original mosaic.


Left is the Western Hemisphere and right is the Eastern Hemisphere, as known to the Dutch in 1648. The central depiction of the Northern Celestial Hemisphere has been removed.
