Português: ATIVIDADES DO GOVERNO - 19.02.13: O Ministério da Saúde apresentou nesta terça-feira (19) os dados da pesquisa VIVA - Vigilância de Violência e Acidentes. De acordo com o estudo, 22,3% dos motoristas e 21,4% dos pedestres envolvidos em acidentes de trânsito apresentavam sinais de embriaguez. No período da pesquisa, 42 mil pessoas perderam a vida em acidentes, mas iniciativas como a Lei Seca vêm contribuindo para reduzir o número de vítimas fatais. No Carnaval de 2013, por exemplo, já com a implementação da iniciativa, as mortes caíram 24%. O levantamento foi feito em 2011 e considerou apenas os atendimentos realizados pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), que gastou cerca de R$ 200 milhões apenas com a internação das vítimas do trânsito. A divulgação dos dados contou com a participação do ministro da Saúde, Alexandre Padilha.
