Description

Das Bild zeigt das 1904 aufgenommene, 1906 herausgegebene Messtischblatt Frankfurt am Main, das bereits seit 1866 zur preußischen Provinz Hessen-Nassau des Königreichs Preußen gehörte. Vor 1866 war die Freie Stadt Frankfurt Stadtstaat im Deutschen Bund.

Die Kartendaten wurden im Laufe der Preußischen Neuaufnahme erhoben, die von der Preußischen Landesaufnahme (Behörde) zwischen 1877 und 1915 durchgeführt wurde. Zu dieser Zeit wurden die Blätter im Maßstab 1:25.000 durch die Behörde fortlaufend nummeriert. Da Teile des nördlich angrenzenden Blattes mit der Nummer 3327 (heute 5718) abgedruckt wurden, trägt das Blatt zwei Nummern.

Die zweite Nummer 3372 kodiert nach dem Index der preussischen Neuaufnahme den überwiegenden Teil des Blattes in den geographischen Grenzen north=50°12' south=50°6' west=8°40' east=8°50' - die Längengrade wurden damals noch nach dem Nullmeridian von Ferro ausgewiesen, d.h. auf dem Blatt erscheinen 8°40' als 26°20'.

Seit der Einführung eines zweidimensionalen Gitters um 1937 durch das Reichsamt für Landesaufnahme wird derselbe Blattschnitt unter der Nummer 5818 (Zeile 58, Spalte 18) geführt, die preussische 3372 wurde abgelöst. Diese zweidimensionale Nummerierung ist für die aktuelle TK 25 der Landesämter auch heute noch in Verwendung.
