Deutsch: Eingangsportal in der Römerhalle zur Kaisertreppe im Frankfurter Römer, die hinaufführt zum Kaisersaal. Das barocke Portal mit aufwendiger schmiedeeiserner Tür war Teil des Ausbau des Baukomplexes Kaisertreppe anläßlich der Krönungsfeierlichkeiten des dritten Wittelsbacher Kaisers Karl VII.. Durch dieses Portal schritt am 12. Februar 1742, nach erfolgter prunkvoller Kaiserkrönung im Kaiserdom von Frankfurt am Main der neu gewählte, gesalbte und gekrönte Kaiser und seine Gäste die Treppe hoch zum Krönungsmal im Kaisersaal. Die Tür wurde nach der Krönung verschlossen. Bereits drei Jahre später starb am 20.01.1745 Kaiser Karl VII. in München. Auch die späteren Kaiser benutzen nach ihre Krönung dieses Portal. Es überstand die Zerstörungen im Zweiten Weltkriegs. |
