Summary[edit]

Description
English: The very jagged form against the light is due to wind erosion by the blizzard (the sand is replaced by crystals of ice and snow) and to the action of the sun on fragments of pack ice. The wind, the tides, the periods of thaw break up the pack ice and during the refreezing piles are formed. It's a bit like on earth with plate tectonics and different forms of erosion.
Français : La forme très découpée en contre-jour est due à l'érosion éolienne par le blizzard (Le sable est remplacé par des cristaux de glace et de neige) et à l'action du soleil sur des fragments de banquise. Le vent, les marées, les périodes de dégel cassent la banquise et lors du regel des amoncellements se forment. C'est un peu comme sur terre avec de la tectonique des plaques et différentes formes d'érosion.
