Das Wurfgeil ist ein lassoartig ausgeworfenes Stülpnetz, das man bei einer Art Schleichjagd auf Standfische einsetzt, die an bestimmte Futterplätze gelockt werden. Bei dem Koppelnetz hängt zwischen zwei Stangen ein eng geknüpfter Netzbeutel; mit diesem Fanggerät veranstalten die Fischer regelrechte Treibjagden auf Standfische unter dem Ufergebüsch. Da diese altbewährten Fanggeräte weitgehend untauglich geworden sind, setzen die letzten Moselfischer heute das Stellnetz ein; es besteht aus einer selbstfangenden, quer in die Strömung gestellten Maschenwand.
