English:
Ruins of the fortified house of Lőrinc Tar(i). A fortified rectangular manor (contry) house surrounded by a moat standing on one of the southern slopes of the Mátra. The remains of its western wall stand relatively high, with the mesh vault on the ground floor and the window openings upstairs. Its heraldic vault, hatch frames and heating devices are known only from excavations. The Tari family built their manor house at the beginning of the 15th century, which they used until 1472. At this time it was inherited by the Kompolti and Guti Country families, who made minor alterations to it. It was destroyed in the second half of the 16th century. Its archaeological research took place between 1983 and 1984. - Here is the Tar Lőrinc Manor Geocaching Site (GCTapo). Also here is kopjafa memorial with inscription: 'Installed by Tar Lörinc Circle of Friends Public Benefit Association/carved by K.A. Dány'. An underground showroom has also been set up. - In 2000 the remaining wall was extended and a memorial plaque was erected and a staircase was added on the hillside facing the closely R.C. church. Black marble? memorial plaque inscription: 'The manor/country house of Lőrinc Tar / Built in the XIV-XV centuries./Listed monument/Installed by the Municipality of Tar/in honor and memory of the Millenium/2000' - Listed and under archaeological protection. - Petőfi Street, Tar, Nógrád County, Hungary.
