Former Batthyány Mansion (Based on facade plaque: Prince's Castle), On the facade inscription Thury György Museum, in fact in 2023 Thury György Museum has three exhibition places. Now, partly? Thury György Museum /Est. 1949/. L-shaped one storey gable roof corner building. Two arch gates, mid avant-corps, tympanon are on its south side. West of the central avant-corps and on the west wing on the ground floor and upstairs is a newly glazed segmental arched arcade. Corbel supported enclosed balcony is on its west side. The ground and first floor rooms are vaulted. Its staircase is arched. In the northern part of the museum courtyard stands the so-called Turkish Fountain (listed), built by Baron Jakab Grasics between 1705 and 1712. From the middle of the 18th century, the building was the officers' house of the Kanizsa estate of the Batthyány family. Since 1968 the György Thury Museum has been operating in the building (+groundfloor shops). Once upon a time, the building also included the manor stable and granary (listed). Building history facade plaque: ~"Prince's Castle is a listed building. It was built at the beginning of the 18th century by the landlord of the city in Baroque style. The middle of the century became the house of the Battyány family. The Prince's Forest Office, the Zala Public Creature's publishing house operated here until 1945 between 1922 and 1947; In the courtyard part between 1805 and 1822 it was the prayer house of the Zsidő community. Egykori Batthyány-kastély táblája szerint Egykori Hercegi Vár (a Thury György Múzeum 3 kiállítóhelye közül ez a központi kiállítóhely) Zártsorú beépítésben álló, L alaprajzú, egyemeletes, nyeregtetős saroképület. Déli, utcai homlokzatán két szegmentíves kapu. Ny-i, utcai homlokzatának szélső tengelyében félköríves, konzollal alátámasztott zárterkély. A déli, utcai szárny udvari homlokzatát timpanonos középrizalit tagolja, a középrizalittól nyugatra, és a nyugati szárnyon a földszinten és az emeleten újonnan beüvegezett szegmentíves árkádsor. A földszinti és emeleti helyiségek csehsüveg- és dongaboltozatosak. Lépcsőháza húzott karú, íves. A múzeum udvar északi részén áll az ún. Török-kút (műemlék törzsszám: 8731). Építtette báró Grasics Jakab 1705-1712 között. Az épület a 18. század közepétől a Batthyány család kanizsai uradalmának tiszttartói háza volt. 1968-tól a Thury György Múzeum működik az épületben.[1] - Emléktábla felirata 'Hercegi vár műemlék épület. A 18. század elején építtette a város földesura barokk stílusban. A század közepám a Battyány család uradalmi tiszttartói háza lett. Itt müködött 1945-ig a hercegi erdőhivatal, a Zalai Közlény szrkesztősége és kiadója 1922 és 1947 között; az udvari részben 1805-1822 között a zsidő hitközség imaháza. 1968-tól a Thury György Múzeum otthona. //Az emléktáblát állíttatta a 2006 esztendőben Tompa Ingatlanforgalmi Kft. Varia Kft. Nagykanizsa' - kapubejárójában: Thúry György fa domborműve (Felállítás 1971, Németh Kálmán, fa) [2] - Egykor az épülethez tartozott az uradalmi istálló és magtár is (műemlék törzsszám: 8616).
