Eutrophication Process

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Eutrophication is the process where nutrient runoff enters bodies of water and increases algae production. This algae production covers the surface of the water, blocking sunlight from reaching below the surface. Because no sunlight is reaching the aquatic plants under the surface, these plants can no longer perform photosynthesis, decreasing the oxygen production and killing aquatic organisms living in those bodies of water.
