Summary

[edit]
Description
English: After 8 hrs of hypoxia cells were visualized under confocal microscope and live cell images were taken in time series mode of about 0.2 secs for 15 min. Hypoxia medium were replaced by fresh DMEM + 10% FBS to reoxygenate those cells and live cell images were taken for 15 mins of reperfusion. After 8 hrs of hypoxia exposure, Ca2+ accumulates more in the mitochondria and the nucleus compared to the cytosol. At the start of reperfusion MPTP open and the mitochondrial membrane ruptures due to a Ca2+influx into the mitochondria.
