The motor is converted from a stepper motor into an electronically commutated motor in progress of the film. In addition, the efficiency of the motor is determined. To do so, the electric input power and the mechanical output power are measured. The used materials of the electric motor are as simple as possible to be able to do a reverse engeneering. The functionality is demonstrated by using a self-made revolution counter, digital multimeter, LEDs and an oscilloscope. An ATmega8A microcontroller is used to control the motor by software. This little electric motor is a test model of an electric vehicle, which is built as an open source project by now. |
