In two parts, each with separate dated title page, and incorporating several previously published works. In part 1, each component has separate dated title page with continuous pagination and register, except for "The Undeceiving" which is separately paged. In part 2, "The History of episcopacy," part 1 and 2 each has separate dated title page, pagination, and register, being a reissue, with cancel title pages and foreword, of the 1642 edition, of which at least part 2 was printed by Richard Hodgkinson

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy BENTON 14.3 FOLIO from the collection of Josiah Benton. With dated owner's signature on first title page of Henry Burgiss, 1789. and manuscript "H" at head of title; on following leaf is the signature of Walter Young; some marginal pencil markings throughout "The undeceiving", and occasionally elsewhere in volume, with one word heavily inked out in the Preface of "Brief discourse". Bound by Riviere and Son in modern brown morocco, with gilt and blind rules, corner fleurons, all edges gilt. Side notes grazed in rebinding. In light brown asbestos-lined pull-off case by Riviere
