English: Title: Downtown block that includes the Robey Theatre in Spencer, West Virginia

Notes: Purchase; Carol M. Highsmith Photography, Inc.; 2015; (DLC/PP-2015:055).; Credit line: West Virginia Collection within the Carol M. Highsmith Archive, Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division.; The movie theater was built in 1911 and extensively remodeled in 1926. The front facade features a large central entrance bay, with a ticket booth flanked on both sides by two sets of double doors. Above the entrance is a marquee anchored to the second floor by chains and distinctive neon sign above. It is one of the oldest continuously operating movie theaters in the United States.; Forms part of: West Virginia Collection within the Carol M. Highsmith Archive.; Title, date and keywords based on information provided by the photographer.
