Laurentiuskirche Scharenstetten, Dornstadt, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

Deutsch: Um 1450 entstandener Georgsaltar aus der Werkstatt von Hans Multscher oder einer seiner Schüler im geöffneten Zustand mit einer Kreuzigungsszene in der Mitte, den heiligen drei Königen links und dem Tod Mariens rechts. Ungewöhnlich in der Kreuzigungsszene ist die Aufnahme des Hl. Georg ganz rechts mit dem getöteten Drachen. Der Altar war ursprünglich im Ulmer Münster aufgestellt, wurde während des Bildersturms in einem Magazin verwahrt und kam 1760 zur Laurentiuskirche nach Scharenstetten. Die originale Predella war zu dieser Zeit bereits abhanden gekommen und wurde durch eine Abendmahldarstellung aus der Hand des lokalen Malers Joseph Wannenmacher ersetzt.
