Summary[edit]
English: A copy of the 21st edition of the Diccionario de la lengua española (literally: Dictionary of the Spanish Language), published in 1992 by the Real Academia Española (literally: Royal Spanish Academy). This edition was conceived to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Discovery of the Americas as well as the 500th anniversary of the first grammar of a modern European language to be published (Gramática de la lengua castellana, Antonio de Nebrija, 1492). Since the Discovery of the Americas founded the so called Hispanidad, this edition included numerous new entry words coming from the Spanish language as spoken in Hispanic America.
