Description
English: Closeup view of balsam fir in montane boreal forest just off the Devil's Path near the summit of West Kill Mountain, one of New York's Catskill High Peaks. Here the trees grow very close together, providing permanent shade strong enough for the temperature beneath them to be noticeably cooler.
