Separation of gold and silver by sulfur Since acid was expensive to produce, for low-grade alloy Agricola outlined a method in which the alloy is granulated, combined with sulfur, and heated at a low temperature. Much of the silver reacts to form silver sulfide, leaving behind a more concentrated alloy, which can then be separated using the acid process. |
