Description

This folder contains maps, graphs, and tables compiling hydrographic data from Smithsonian Cruise 87, collected in April 1964. Data were collected on the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Johnston Atoll as well as to the south and southwest of Johnston Atoll, within the area approximately bounded by 12° to 20° N and 161° to 174° W. Individual hand-drawn maps plot BT station numbers, surface salinity (‰), corrected surface temp. (°C), 20° isotherm depth (meters), depth of the mixed layer (meters), bucket temperature (°C) and bucket salinity (‰). Also plotted on these maps are data from Gilbert Cr. #72, collected April 14-17, 1964. Graphs in the folder plot various data (surface temperature (°C), surface salinity (‰), depth (meters), and depth of the mixed layer(meters)) by longitude. Tables in the folder are compilations of hydrographic data, locality data for stations, bucket temp. and BT slide # for each station, and a comparison of BT and bucket surface temperatures at each station
