Summary[edit]

Description
English: Time-resolved volume rendering of turbulence intensity (turbulent kinetic energy, TKE) in a patient with an aortic coarctation located distal to the left subclavian artery. The elevated values of turbulent kinetic energy in the ascending aorta were caused by a minimally obstructive subvalvular membrane, exemplifying the sensitivity of this measure to minor abnormalities in blood flow. A semi-transparent three-dimensional isosurface rendering of CE-MRA data is shown for orientation.
