The elevated values of turbulent kinetic energy in the ascending aorta were caused by a minimally obstructive subvalvular membrane, exemplifying the sensitivity of this measure to minor abnormalities in blood flow. A semi-transparent three-dimensional isosurface rendering of CE-MRA data is shown for orientation. |
