Summary[edit]
DescriptionComparison of seven ICE projections.webm |
English: Simple comparison of seven projection methods, cylindrical, Mercator, spherical, orthographic, fisheye, stereographic, and perspective (rectilinear), of the Microsoft Image Composite Editor for a 120 x 50 degree partial panorama. The four methods, cylindrical, Mercator, spherical, and rectilinear preserve verticals (vertical lines remain vertical). Only rectilinear projection preserves straight lines, but it can produce the greatest distortion near the edges of the image (see the sculpture group in the bottom right corner). The video shows seven STITCH screenshots twice, first quickly, then more slowly. (FUJIFILM X-E2, XF 55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS by 55mm, VSDC Video Editor)
(FUJIFILM X-E2, XF 55-200mmF3.5-4.8 R LM OIS by 55mm, VSDC Video Editor) |
