Italiano: I Calanchi di Montemaggiore sono un geosito d'importanza locale sul territorio comunale di Monte San Pietro e Valsamoggia, nella città metropolitana di Bologna, in Emilia-Romagna, Italia. Questi affioramenti fanno parte delle "Argille Scagliose", rocce sedimentarie di matrice argillosa tra le più antiche della collina bolognese. I Calanchi di Montemaggiore si orientano secondo la direttrice ovest-est, e sono delimitati a sud e a ovest dalle pareti di arenaria del Pliocene. Il sentiero ciclo-pedonale passa sopra ai calanchi e permette di apprezzarne la configurazione. English: The Badlands of Montemaggiore (Calanchi di Montemaggiore) are a place of geological interest in Monte San Pietro and Valsamoggia, Metropolitan city of Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. Badlands are part of the "Argille Scagliose Complex" or "scaly clay", sedimentary rocks of a scaly matrix embedded by some blocky components, among the oldest of the Bolognese Apennines. The Badlands of Montemaggiore are oriented west-east, and southern and western sites are closed by Pliocene sandstone rocks. The cycle-pedestrian path follows the line of the ridge and allows to appreciate their configuration. |
