Spiral fountain /other titles: "Time spiral" 'Körmend history memorial' / Planned by architect Miklós Sólyom. Installed in 2010 (2012?) Tha architect about his works: 'The water bubbling out of the turned spring stone placed at a height of 2.25 meters flows down the spiral surface, 53 meters long, on a very low slope of 2-3%. The sculpture is a spectacle, a water playground and a memorial site for important dates of the city.' - Dates and inscriptions: 1238 First documentary mention of Körmend; 1244. X. 28. IV. King Bela grants city privileges; 1394 Market town; 1605 The town of Körmend belongs to the Batthyány family; 1650 Hajdúváros; 1664 Battle of Körmend; 1730 Start of mansion construction; 1872 Rail traffic begins; 1979 Körmend is a city again - Szabadság Square, Körmend, Vas County, Hungary.
