Issu de la Maison de Montmorency.

English: Quarterly, the first and fourth or a cross gules between sixteen alerions azure and charged with five escallops argent (Laval), the second and third gules semy-de-lis or (Châteaubriant).
Français : Écartelé d'or à la croix de gueules cantonnée de seize alérions d'azur ordonnés 2 et 2 et chargée de cinq coquilles d'argent (Laval) et de gueules semé de fleurs de lys d'or (Châteaubriant). Lors du rôle d'armes du second traité de Guérande (1381), il écartèle ses armes avec celles de sa femme.
