Summary[edit]

Description The Biel/Bienne railway station building of 1923 by the architectural firm Moser and Schürch (Friedrich Moser, Wilhelm Schürch) is a neo-classical building with a monumental temple front that forms the main entrance to the reception hall. The main entrance, whose pediment is supported by Doric columns and adorned with a large clock, is aligned with the axis of Bahnhofstrasse/Rue de la Gare. In front of the station, the wide, rectangular Bahnhofplatz/Place de la Gare opens out into the street of the same name, which runs parallel to the station, and into Bahnhofstrasse/Rue de la Gare, which runs towards the station.
