House. The first owner,-since 1843,- of the plot Gergely Bója (Boja) (1817-1892) teacher of the local teacher training school, member of parliament of the district, superintendent of Budapest, first president of the "Zala County General Teachers' Association". The new owner since 1856 was János Vargha Auditor of the princely manor/estate? The house that still exists today is already marked on the map of 1860. The new owner, doctor Dr. József Szekeres moved here in 1882 and lived here until his death in 1921. In 1918 Szekeres received the prename "bánokszentgyörgyi" from Charles I of Austria. Plaque on facade: Szekeres House. Building of local importance. The park established by lawyer Lajos Tóth stretching to Batthyány Street was owned by the Szekeres family. Dr. József Szekeres was the first head of the new hospital from 1885 until his death in 1921, and his wife was the president of the Christian Charitable Women's Association. When József Szekeres Sr. - lieutenant of Hungarian Civic Revolution and War of Independence of 1848–1849 - died in 1894 the house at 6 Batthyány Street was purchased, where the telegraph shop operated until 1865.//The memorial plaque was erected in 2006 by the Hospital of Nagykanizsa City of County Rights - 6 Batthyány Street, Nagykanizsa, Zala County, Hungary.

Lakóház Homlokzatán emléktábla felirata: "Szekeres-ház helyi jelentőségű épület. A Tóth Lajos ügyvéd által létesített, Batthyány utcáig nyúló parkkal volt a Szekeres család tulajdonában. Dr. Szekeres József 1885-től 1921-ig haláláig az új kórház első vezetője felesége a Keresztény Jótékony Nőegylet elnöke volt. Idősebb Szekeres József - 1848-49 hadnagya - halálakor 1894-ben Batthyány utca 6 alatti házat vették meg, ahol 1865-ig a távírda müködött.//Az emléktáblát állította 2006. esztendőben Nagykanizsa Megyei Jogú Város Kórháza" E ház telkét Bója (Boja) Gergely (1817-1892) a helyi tanítóképző tanára, a kerület országgyűlési képviselője, Budapest tanfelügyelője, „Zalamegyei általános tanító-egylet” első elnöke 1843-ban vásárolta az uradalomtól. A telket 1856-ban megvette Vargha János uradalmi számvevő. A jelenleg is létező ház az 1860-as térképen már jelölve van. 1882-ben költözött ide az új tulajdonos, dr. Szekeres József orvos, és itt élt 1921-es haláláig. 1918-ban Szekeres a királytól a „bánokszentgyörgyi” előnevet kapta.
