Description
English: Part of a documentary film produced by the Soviet Army Film Unit, presented as evidence and shown at the Nuremberg Trials as Prosecution Exhibit #228.

Translation of the German narration [1] :

People are shown in camp in winter with snow on ground. CUs of prisoners behind wire (women as well as children). The camp covered with snow is shown in long shot and from the air. Featured also is a map of Auschwitz, plans of the crematory, etc. An interior is shown with old woman in rows of bunks. There are also close-ups of various women in the bunks. CUs, albums of photographs (showing different nationalities). VS, groups behind wire, care-worn faces, dead in the street, men with blankets over heads. The evacuation of the camp is shown: prisoners are helped and carried out ; crowds march out (many wearing striped suits), horses and wagons carry the sick ; children are lead out by nuns and others.
