Ferenc Erkel Memorial House. Birthhouse of Ferenc Erkel. Németváros kantor (relig. musician) house and school building. In 1797 a house for the educator built here. In 1821 extended with a schoolroom the old one. The south wing (with square side facade) was the school and the East wing (street side facade was the home of the educator). In the 1829-1830 winter the school part partly collapsed. The current Neo-Classical house built by Mihály Nuszbek in 1830. In between 1808 and 1841 the Erkel family lived here. In 1893 a plaque to Ferenc Erkel installed on the square side facade, in 1910 changed for a new one, The "new" plaque was carved by sculptor Sándor Mogyoróssy and erected by the Békésvár county Public Culture Association. - A Dürer memorial plaque (installed 1928) was also placed on the street side of the house refer to the father (Albert Dürer /Senior/ born as Albert Ajtósi) and grandfather (noble Antal Ajtósi de Aythóssy) of the famous painter Albert Dürer (Junior). - Part of the Németváros (German Town) city part, that is a protected architectural ensemble. Note on 1913 and 1893 maps shows as Józsefváros (Joseph Town) insted Németváros. About German Town: located just west of the City Centre, in the Middle Age used for unknown purposes; in the 18th century here were vineyards, maize fields and watermelon gardens/platations; the street and plot structure can be dated to the beginning of the 19th century, this was an island with a bridge over the Saint John ditch connected to the city cente; a planned city part, the Jókai Street (ex Szarvas Street) is the east-west axis; - already at the time of theneighbourhood planning, the location of the church, which forms the center of the district, was designated in today's Apor Vilmos Square; - the houses at the Apor square built after the 1801 fire exept the House of Mary (ie. House with Mary niche statue), which is from the 18th century - 7 Apor Vilmos Square (Dürer Albert Street corner), Németváros (German Town) neighbourhood, Gyula, Békés County, Hungary.

Itt élt Antal az ötvösmester, s itt három fia Albert *1427 +1502 a később Nürnbergbe vándorolt és ott már 'Dürer'-nek nevezett ötvös ki fiában az ifjabb Albertben *1471 +1528 a világhírű festőművészt adta űj hazájánakí; azután János a későbbi nagyváradi plébános és végül László, gyulai szjgyártómester, kinek fia Miklós az ötvösmester, előbb Nürnbergben majd Kölnben szerzett dicsőséget "magyar" nevének mellyel ott illették.
