Description
English:
Saint Joseph church (Nicknamed as Gyula German church). Late Baroque Historicist style. Built in between 1863 and 1866. Architect József Nunbach. Tower at south facade. Built on the site of the smaller church of the German community in Gyula in the 18th century. The length of the church is 42 m, the width is 16 m, the ceiling height is 13 m, and its tower is 37.5 m. Interior: Main Altarpiece of St. Joseph, 1866 work; side altarpieces, 1869 works. Altar sculptures and painted statues in the nave, 18th-19th centuries. Pulpit, 1866. Confessional chairs under the gallery, benches, chandeliers. Colored glass windows by József Palka are 1926 (1927) works. Ceiling seccos 1924. Nave seccos 1984-1986? On the ceiling of the sanctuary there is an image of the Holy Trinity, painted in 1924 by Lajos Ramold. The first secco of the ship was painted by László Patay, title: Gratitude of Two Hundred and Sixty Years. It was made in 1984. Under the gallery in a chapel a Virgin Mary statue 18th (or earlier) century brought the German settlers - Apor Vilmos Square, Németváros (German Town) neighbourhood, Gyula, Békés County, Hungary

Szent József tiszteletére felszentelt templom. A Gyula város települési értékkataszterben mint 'Józsefvárosi római katolikus templom' szerepel - Későbarokk, historizáló, épült 1863-1866 között, tervezte Nunbach József. A gyulai Nádi Boldogasszony plébániához tartozik, az ún. német templom. D-i homlokzati toronnyal, a hajónál keskenyebb, íves záródású szentéllyel, a szentélyzáródás fölött lekontyolt nyeregtetővel. A szentély két oldalán emeletes, lekontyolt nyeregtetővel fedett mellékterek. A hajó homlokzatain magas, háromtagú, a faltagoló tükröket elválasztó kettős pilasztereknek székéül szolgáló lábazat, három részes párkány, félköríves záródású, tagolt szalagkeretes ablakok. Vízszintes záródású bejáratok a templomtérbe a D-, a Ny-i és a K-i homlokzat középtengelyében. A D-i, főhomlokzati kapu előtt kétszer két oszlopos, timpanonos portikusz, a timpanonban Szentháromság-ábrázolással. A főhomlokzat főpárkánya fölött attika, szélein törtívű féloromzatok kővázákkal, feljebb pilaszteres tagolású, timpanonnal lezárt alsó-, órapárkánnyal lezárt második toronyszint. A K-i homlokzat bejárata előtt nyeregtetős, zárt előcsarnok, oromzatában ívsoros párkánnyal. A mellékterek homlokzatain egyszerű lábazat és párkány, tükrös faltagolás, vízszintes záródású, tagolt szalagkeretes ajtók és ablakok. A belsőben csehsüveg-boltozatos hajó, félkupolás apszis, csehsüveg-boltozatos sekrestye fölöttük oratóriumok. A bejárati oldalon kétemeletes, falazott pilléres karzat, a hajó felé félköríves záródású nyílásokkal; első emelete vasoszlopokon nyugvó faszerkezettel bővítve; a karzatfeljáró a főhomlokzat K-i tengelyéből, kívülről vezet.
