Library's c. 2 and c. 3 consist of the 100 prints of v. 1 only, with 3 additional prints from the second vol. included in c. 2 immediately after the t.p. T.p. of c. 2 includes a publication date for v. 1, lacking in the other two copies: anno domini M.D.LXXXV
Binding, c. 1: later polished red goatskin. Gold tooled with triple fillets, fleurons. Spine title: STATVARVM / ROMANARVM / L.IIII. The edges gilt. Copy 2: limp vellum. A repair partially covers an old title written in brown ink at top of spine. Remains of 2 pairs of ties at foredge. The edges sprinkled red. Copy 3: limp vellum. Part of the title of the present work, written in brown ink on the inner side of the vellum of the spine, shows through in reverse, apparently implying that the original vellum was retained and reversed when the book was rebound
Centered on front pastedown of Library's c. 1 is bookplate of A. Kühnholtz-Lordat, signed in the plate: F. Dupont. Inscription at head of t.p. now inked out. In c. 2 genitals of male nudes obscured with black or reddish-brown ink
Originally published by Antoine Lafreri as part of Speculum romanae magnificentiae (Rome, 1560's)
Vol. 1 (primus et secundus liber) and v. 2 (tertius et quartus liber) each have engraved t.p.'s. The prints of both vols. are numbered 1-100 at lower left- or right-hand corner
