English: Statuette of the royal scribe Bokennenife, holding an image of the god Ptah. The original dedication in hieroglyphics is Bokennenife's, and the demotic text that appears afterward is from a later person re-dedicating the figure for their own purpose. Figure is made of Greywacke, from Saqqara, 27th dynasty, circa 500 BC. The Demotic Text is in Register 2-(row 2), below the hieroglyph text-(the photo is High-res Expandible). |
