Summary
[edit]DescriptionAn INDIAN Symphony.webm |
English: This is the incredible story of an economic turnaround. It begins in the 90s and continues as a sustained story of growth. This is the story of India, the world's second fastest growing economy today. This film begins by briefly tracing some of the economic issues that India faced in the 90s and the changes Indian leaders made. It then looks at what impact those changes had -- on the economy directly and also on the people. What did those changes mean for the new generation of Indians that followed? How did industry respond to the opportunities that presented themselves? In what way did India change?
Through interviews with writers and captains of industry, the film looks at the ambition of Indian companies and their quest for excellence -- the adoption of new processes, the development of new products or the acquisition of other companies that would help Indian companies grow. The film also considers how India has looked for excellence within and found examples that have endured. The film then looks at how India has also tried to benefit all its citizens -- poor and rich -- through every economic move. The film considers examples of innovation and 'out of the box' thought that are changing the way people access essential services. Finally, the film celebrates Indian achievements in the economic sphere and looks at the coming future optimistically -- a future where India can claim a place worthy of her people, on the world stage. |
