Description
English: The common toad (bufo bufo) is one of the many amphibians known for its amplexus as part of the mating process. The larger female toad often has to carry the male for days. From head to abdomen the female in the picture is about 95 mm long – the male only 65 mm.
Français : amplexus axilaire chez le Crapaud commun (Bufo bufo). L'amplexus suit la copulation proprement dite et peut durer plusieurs jours. Le phénomène est très fréquent chez les anoures. Sur cette photo, la femelle (en bas) fait 95 mm de long, contre seulement 65 mm pour le mâle.
